Played 3 games laterly.

1 3-player game - Javen, Evonne and me
2 solo games at home

I have to say i always play it with the anticipation of a 1st rated game in mind, but did not feel it that way. For the time being, will be doing injustice to poll for either of the games now. It din give me a WOW feeling, but i admit its broader appeal and theme gave it an edge over PR.

Despite din WOWing over it, i rem PR gave me YUCKS feeling in my first play, and i liked it the second time onwards.Will need to try more of it to decide which is better. Play this coming session? Lol. Wei xun will curse and swear.

You bet! Haha. Bad experience with all the games I've played so far because my Occupation + Minor Improvement card draws didn't have synergy with one another. Ended up getting whooped by at least 30 points. I didn't manage to get more than 15 points. Sad…

Boardgamegeek suggests drafting but I've yet to try. Friends said it's much better. Some cards just've to go with specific others, so if you're stuck with that card as your last draw, you also die.

Despite not having tried agricola enuff, i think they are really made differently. Asked to make a choice now, its like having to choose between nasi lemak and yong tau foo. Tough decision. Based on so many possibilities in agricola, i will have to say i need at least 20 plays to decide whether one is 'really' better than the other.

I say dun give up hope so soon. Lol

i would say...coca cola...yes...its has too many possibilities...
but one thing...its nv flexible...jus lots of various 'openings'...

This makes things complicated. If the number 1 game needs to be drafted to be balanced then it is with flaws in the first place. It should have been tested extensively, either it wasn't or it is as it is, meant to be a thematic feeling holding different occupations cards and minor improvements cards.
