1 Laminating of cards on Tue Dec 09, 2008 4:48 pm

Does anyone bother to lamintate his/her cards or instructions?

Hmmm........personally I feel that it is recommended to laminate
those games that involve very frequent handling and rough play
so that they can have a longer "playing-span".

Can also protect our precious cards from water, dirt etc.

Usually it is $1/pc @ stationery stores which can be very X.
I actually laminated all the 9 characters of my Citadels game at
the bookstore.....spent $9 Sad

How much are u guys willing to pay for someone to help to
laminate the entire stack of cards for your favourite games?

Ya, its quite exp at $1 apiece, somemore i get worried abt laminating cards that are more valuable than citadels.

Citadels is easily replacable, but for more expensive games like twilight imperium and tide of iron, i choose to laminate myself coz you dun really know the quality of the lamination. Worse still, they damage your cards. Lol.

I would prefer to use sleeves instead, abt 2 bucks for 100 pieces of sleeves . Definately better option for protection if laminating is expensive or worrying.

If there is a laminating service that charges according to game, i am ok with charging say 20% to 30 % of the game price to laminate and protect the game. But i dun think anyone will do it then.

You could actually get a box of 100 laminating pouches for about $7.50 at the Popular bookstore. But these pouches come in different sizes, so you'll have to be careful about the measurements. =D

Yup, just purchased a few boxes of Aurora laminating pouches
from Popular. Laminated the entire deck of Citadels, Bohnanza &
Saboteur. Will be laminating Landlord next. Also looking for
other sizes of laminating pouches for laminating Pandemic and
Pictureka.

No lah, it isn't madness.
We love our games so we
feel that it is an
"investment" to laminate
our games.
Can also last longer and protect
them from itchy hands
that love to bend the
cards as if they are
poker cards....heart pain....heeehee

sure, can help u to laminate but laminating is a very tedious process.
cos must be very careful on the insertion of cards and alignments.
so.............how much are u willing to pay for the laminating service? per card?
